Frequently asked

How do I change the game language?

From the language selector on the Settings page. The language switches the word dictionary and the leaderboard together; each language has its own saved game and its own leaderboard.

Can I carry my guest progress over to an account?

Yes. When you link a Google or Apple account from the Profile page you are asked whether to transfer your progress. Choose to transfer and your scores, matches and badges continue on the new account.

Why can't I change my name?

Guest accounts carry an auto-generated, immutable name. Once you link a Google, Apple or email account you can edit your name from the Profile page.

My turn never arrived / a match disappeared

Versus matches are turn-based with a 72-hour deadline per turn. When the deadline passes, the waiting player wins the match. You can find all your matches on the My Games page from the home screen.

Why did the game change its name?

The game was previously published under a different name; it was renamed to WordThis: Block Rain over a trademark. Only the name and the logo changed: it is the same app, it arrives as an ordinary update, and your account, scores, matches, badges and saved games are all unchanged.

What is the difference between the stages and Free Mode on the Play page?

Stages 1-2-3 are Arcade sections of 20 hands each: you get a fixed set of pieces, try to clear the board, and earn 1-3 stars based on how many cells are left standing. Free Mode is the endless solo game, and it is the one that feeds the leaderboard.

Can I change how the tiles or the background look?

Yes, both are on the Settings page. Tile Style draws the letters either as glass beads (Advanced) or as flat gems (Basic). With Background set to "Varying", every Arcade stage gets its own scene; "Fixed" uses the standard board everywhere. Free Mode and Versus use the standard board under either setting.

My finger does not land exactly on the cell when I trace a word

Try Settings > Drawing Mode. Smart (the default) catches the letter you meant even when your finger is not centred on the cell; Classic only selects a cell when you are clearly inside it.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: Profile → Delete Account. See the Account Deletion page for details.
